Caribbean BBQ Feast - Friday 23rd AugustSummer bank holidays are best celebrated with the finest food, great wine and ample sunshine, and that's exactly what we got for our Winemakers Tour and Caribbean Feast last Friday. The evening was off to a great start with the 5pm winemaker's tour and a jovial group led by David. They explored the winery and learned more about how we make wine here in Cornwall - with an array of questions joining the discussion. These tours are great for that! Then for the favourite part - back to the barn for a tutored tasting with wine and nibbles! That's how Friday's should be done and a fair few bottles were uncorked! The wine flowed then the cocktails were shaken, it's time for the feast to begin! A Planter's Punch to welcome our guests, with a fruity-sweet concoction of rum, grenadine, pineapple juice and soda, just the thing for a Caribbean feast. Taking advantage of the warm temperatures, guests were seated in the courtyard and enjoyed a delicious buffet of Caribbean flavours and plentiful dishes. The Guyanese Pepperpot Goat Stew was certainly popular and went down a treat with our guests, with seconds a must! CARIBBEAN MENU - Main Dishes - Jerk Pork Butt Jerk Aubergine (Vg) Guyanese Pepperpot Goat Stew Veggie Pepperpot Stew (Vg) Puertorican Pescado al Mojo isleño (grilled fish with a tomato-olive sauce) - Sides - Plantain Fritters Callaloo Rice & Peas Mango Salsa Breads - Dessert - Grilled Pineapple, Coconut, Dark Chocolate & Dark 'n' Stormy Sorbet Our next feast will be the Seasonal Feast with Cornish Vermouth & Cocktails on Friday 13th September - we hope to see you there!

We have hosted a range of exciting screenings this year, including the Royal Wedding Garden Party and Sky TV launch with the guys from the Cornwall Channel, however, last night's screening took a fictional twist and transformed the winery barn for a screening of Moulin Rouge.
We asked you back in Summer which film you would like to see screened at Knightor and you didn't disappoint with your choice! The upstairs of the threshing barn created a perfect space for a cinema and a large screen projected the film. A warm welcome and tasty array of cinema snacks awaited guests, with homestyle salted caramel/plain popcorn, burger sliders, nachos and ice creams on offer, as well as plentiful wines, naturally! A collaboration with C Fylm, a Cornish cinema initiative, these screenings are open to all and enable people across the Cornwall to watch great films in their own community at an affordable price. With tickets just £6 this includes membership for members to access screenings at different venues throughout Cornwall for a nominal charge. We would like to thank everyone supported this event - we hope you as much fun as we did and can't wait to share details about our next screening.. more details coming soon! |
