The winery is a beautiful courtyard of restored 19th century granite barns, enclosed by mature Cornish hedges. The main threshing barn houses our striking oak topped barrel bar on the ground floor and large vaulted dining space on the first floor. Along with a sample of our grape vines, the grounds surrounding Knightor also play host to our sunny courtyard, herb garden, large pond and children’s play areas.

Below are some examples and testimonials from previous functions run successfully at Knightor

Imerys 25 years long service dinner - Human Resources were looking at possible venues to host an event for between 40-50 people on a Friday evening, for a sit down three course dinner of tables of up to 10 people with some entertainment. In previous years they had had a magician doing table magic for guests on arrival and between courses or a roulette table (playing with fun chips no gambling). They selected Knightor out of all the possibilities as “You have a lovely venue and I’m sure our guests will appreciate the occasion – we try our best to make it special.”

We were very pleased to host this annual dinner where Imerys celebrate the loyalty and dedication of some of their most longstanding employees with their partners. Working with their HR department the upstairs of the restaurant was laid out for this private function with a champagne reception and presentation of awards followed by a four course meal and drinks to late in the evening.

Truro and Penwith College held their own Alternative Olympics at Knightor on Tuesday 10th July. The college split into Cuba, Estonia, Lichtenstein and Latvia teams and competed for medals in the grounds of Knightor and enjoyed a Mediterranean buffet lunch, winery tour and tasting. ​

A senior manager at the Eden Project was looking to run a marketing team event for 26 people, with a strict criteria. He was keen to go off site, wanted an interesting venue and had a tight budget. About two-thirds of the day was to be strategising with the rest set aside for a more relaxed team activity. We ensured their privacy by organising the upstairs  of the threshing barn into a meeting room with seating and tables organised around the projector. Morning coffee and a three course lunch were served in the downstairs restaurant. Our winemaker James organised a tour of the winery where they sampled the different vintages in fermentation, followed by a tutored tasting event ending the day in a game of wine options. The whole package came in below their budget, while meeting the needs for productivity and making the team feel valued.

One of the West Country’s leading firms of solicitors approached us about hosting a marketing event they were organising for local business women. The budget was limited and yet the nature of their clientele meant that only the finest food and wine would do. The upstairs space was reserved for their group with the seminar arranged in a horseshoe shape around the presenter. We served their party of thirty a selection of quality hot and cold canapés with fine wines and soft drinks. 

The staff at Knightor were very helpful and the food was wonderful, which all worked towards making our networking evening a success. I would definitely recommend Knightor as a venue for a variety of events and look forward to going back there myself.

OPENING TIMES

From 4th Jan 2021 the shop will be open by appointment only

You can purchase wine, vermouth and gift vouchers via our online store here 
 
Events barn/restaurant and bar:
From 31st Dec 20 the restaurant will be closed for dine in and takeaway feasts and Sunday lunches for a period. Keep an eye on social media and for reopening updates

Please note Knightor is a working winery and old farmstead so there are areas of rough ground, uneven levels and steps and thresholds to be negotiated. Visitors and guests need to wear appropriate footwear and take extra care.
