A Conversation With: Emily Rose Event Styling

26/8/2022

With the wedding season in full swing, we sit down with Emma Kinsman of Emily Rose Event Styling to discuss her love for the industry.

After discovering her love for art and creativity at a young age, Emma always seemed destined to embark on a career with this passion at the forefront, however, it was a tragedy that opened the door for her. “I had a close friend who was terminally ill and her wish was to marry her partner before she passed. I organised everything for her wedding day and loved the joy it gave her, as well as all the planning and organising that was involved, especially the styling! Before she passed, we chatted about how she thought I should make a career out of wedding styling, then sadly, she passed away two months later; this is where Emily Rose Events Hire began”, Emma explains.

“I love the joy and excitement that comes with venue styling”. From elegant florals to pops of colour, bespoke is the key word when it comes to the service that Emma and her team provides, allowing couples to invent a style that portrays their personality. Whether that is in the form of inspiring centre pieces, graceful archways or chair coverings, there is no dream too big. “The team loves a challenge. A new theme or trend gives us the opportunity to source lots more decor to add to our ever growing collection” Emma goes on to say.

The pandemic sparked many changes in the way the wedding industry operates, with the destination becoming more important to couples. This is something that Emma has noticed, with the influx of out-of-county couples exploring and booking Cornish venues. “Cornwall seems to be the place to get wed! A huge proportion of our couples are non local, there has definitely been an increase in couples coming to Cornwall to have their special day”. There is a subtle anticipation that the desire for a Cornish celebration continues and social media has become a persuasive tool in driving couples to the county. “Social media has played a huge part in the growth of Emily Rose Events Hire. It has enabled us to build a great relationship with lots of venues and clients and we really hope that we keep growing in the way we have over the last few years” highlights Emma.

If it feels more personal, it will become an environment in which you can relax. As a venue that provides a rustic blank canvas, Knightor is the perfect backdrop to enhance a style that suits you and the day you wish to create. With Emma and her team playing such an integral role in many of our couples days, they remain firmly within our recommended supplier list and we look forward to seeing how they transform the venue each time they visit!
